Today we went to the Jubail souq to shop for thobes and abayas for the kids.
The process was more involved than I thought it would be. The boys got measure for size, and chose the traditional white colored thobes. Than they chose the pattern for their ghutrah or keffiyeh (the head piece), they come in many different patterns, and an agal (the black circular cord to hold the keffiyeh in place). And last but not least leather sandals.
Did you know that Versace, Chanel, Gianfranco Ferre, and other high end designers make thobes and keffiyehs? I certainly didn't! Pretty cool right!
While we were shopping for thobes a few guys came in and we thrilled to see the boys getting all decked out "Saudi Style"! They showed them different ways to wear the keffiyeh, and wanted to take selfies with them. It was funny and cute.
All dressed and ready to go!
Kiki loves my abaya and has asked me for one every since we moved to Saudi. So today was the day for her to shop for one! She was so happy! What a cute girl wanting to be just like her mommy!
Eden too got his very own thobe and keffiyeh.
Look at that smile! He is adorable and so kissable!
