Saturday Fun!

Well this past Saturday was the first Saturday the whole family was together in weeks. Jon did not work because of maintenance at work, and I did not have rehearsals. It was so great to be together with practically nothing to do...
It started early at 9 am with 2 soccer games, and a soccer practice. And a quick trip to Les Schwab to get new tires for Jon's Trans am. Then we hurried home to fix a sack lunch and headed to the zoo for a couple hours.

We still have our zoo passes, and wanted to use them a couple more times before they expired.

Eating our lunches.

Funny Story:
When we went past the cougar's cage, the cougars were pretty active. They were pacing, and roaring, climbing up and down. Logan, the cute funny kid that he is, started yelling as loudly as he could "BYU COUGAR! BYU COUGAR!" over and over again, this was especially funny since he was all geared up with his BYU hat.

Once our outing at the zoo was close to an end, we met up with some of our friends Tyler and Joanna for some dinner and a movie. Of course before we watched the movie, Jon and Tyler had to jam with some guitar hero.

Kites Flying High

On Friday, the kids went out to fly their kites. They waited an entire week to fly them because of the lack of wind, it was practically impossible to fly them any sooner. Julien got his stuck in a tree right away. Papi (my dad) who was at BYU that day was able to get it down for him. He also got the kids started on getting the kites up. They did great after that, and had a lot of fun.

Space Derby!

This past Wednesday, Julien participated in a Space Derby with the cub scouts. He was so excited to test run his rocket. He and Jon spent a lot of time on it (sanding it, painting it, putting it together...). Logan wanted a rocket of his own also. I went to the scout store to get him one. He too spent a lot of time getting it ready. Logan wanted a dragon on his rocket, and was afraid to mess up, so he asked Jon to paint it for him. It turned out so good.

Julien got 1st place for his race. There were many many races! He was thrilled that his rocket did so well.

Jon and I were so excited about the kids rockets that we decided to mount fish lines on their ceiling so they could fly and race their rockets. Pretty cool parents don't you think!?!

While Jon and I were hard at work installing the fish lines, Logan and Julien decided that it would be a great idea to climb trees. Well, just like a cat Logan was able to climb up, but had a much harder time climbing down the tree. And OUCH!

Rex Lee Run

Today I ran the Rex Lee Run with my girls. It was the second year we have participated in the race, and has become kind of a tradition I guess. I had been training the girls for a couple of weeks. Some of them were a little worried about it. But they did great! I think they all enjoyed it after all. It was so much fun. But boy am I getting slow...
