Jon earns his Blue Belt

Jon earned his Blue Belt today. He was pretty excited. Above is a picture of Jon with his Karate instructor Travis.

Here is a video of Jon's kick combo. He said he felt kind of shaky and did not do as good as he had done in the past, but I thought he did a pretty good job. His butterfly kick (the second one) look awesome.

Back to School

School has already started. I can't believe how fast the summer has come and gone. The boys were really excited to start back (I guess they must have forgotten about homework, although they have not really had a break from that since they did homework with me all summer.)

Julien is now in 4th grade. His teacher's name is Mrs. Brown. She seems wonderful. There is a Mac computer on every desk in their classroom, so 2 students share a computer. Julien's teacher is very technologically oriented (it is great since that is the way of the future). Julien is really excited about his teacher and all the cool things they are going to do this year.

Logan is in Mrs. Barlow 2nd grade class. Mrs. Barlow was Julien's 2nd grade teacher also. Logan is very happy about his class and his teacher. Mrs. Barlow has a horse and many smaller animals, Logan loves to hear the stories she tells about her pets.

I hope this year will be a good academic year for the boys where they can grow and learn to love school, and be successful.

Fishing with Dad

Jon and his friend/boss Todd took the boys fishing. They had so much fun. Jon said that the boys did really well and caught a lot of cat fish.

Julien caught a huge cat fish.

Julien and Logan are now Bloggers!

Julien has been bugging me to help him create his own blog for a while now. His friend RJ has one, so of course Julien thought it was cool and wanted one too. I was a little hesitant at first, but today I finally gave in. I thought that it would be great practice typing on the computer, and learning how to navigate through different program. The only downside is that I have to sit next to him to monitor and help out. He is very excited about it.

Check it out!

Not fox in box, but fun in box

One of our neighbor moved and gave some of their extra boxes to the kids. They had been playing with them all morning and afternoon. Later Jon went out and made a fort out of the boxes for them. Julien and Logan had so much fun with it along with some of the other neighborhood kids.

Overhead Water Rocket Launcher

Today was my last day off from taking personal leave for the baby. I decided to do something fun for the kids, so I wanted to build them a water rocket launcher. They helped me shop, construct, and play with it today.

I found some awesome instructions for a cheap and simple one that would spray all of us in the process. The online instructions and tips were really good and can be found here:

Here is a video of the, as you can see it was quite a hit in the neighborhood.

Kimmy and Peachy!

On one of our Skype sessions, Julien and Logan told Kim about their Zhu Zhus. Kim thought it would be fun to surprise Julien and Logan with a Zhu Zhu pet of her own. When she got to the house and pulled Peachy out of her bag, the boys got so excited. They thought it was so cool. That day they even made a house for her. The boys are taking good care of Peachy for Kim while she is away. They are training her to be a ninja.

The family with Kiki!

Mami and Papi with Kiki!

Alex was so sweet and so helpful with both the boys and Kia Ora. He played and played with Julien and Logan. They love him so much. He truly is the coolest uncle to them almost like a brother in a way. Alex also kept Kiki nice and asleep when I needed to do things around the house.

The proud Aunties! Audrey and Kim could not keep their hands off of Kia Ora. It was a constant battle of who could hold her first, and who had held her the longest. Aren't they all so pretty!

T and Raph will have some catching up to do when they get home. But I know they are so excited to have a little nice, and are very eager to meet her in person.

Julien 9th Birthday celebration

Julien turned 9 today. I can't believe how fast the years have gone by. I can still remember bringing him home from the hospital, or his first day in kindergarten. And now he is a big 9 year old.
Julien is one of the sweetest, caring, loving persons I know. He will do whatever to make one feel happy and loved. He truly is a great boy and I am so grateful to have him be a part of our family. He has a pretty charming face too, with an adorable smile. I loved taking his 9 year old pictures.

I wanted to do something so fun and special for Julien's birthday. I had planned Ninja says games, Ninja obstacle courses, dodge the water bombs, and so much more. About one hour before the party, it started pouring rain. I could not believe. I did not know what to do since all of the birthday games where outdoor games.

Jon suggested to do a movie party instead with a ninja theme. I thought I was a pretty cleaver idea since Julien really wanted to have his birthday that day, his friends were already on their way, and the decorations and cake were done. The kids watched "Kung Fu Pandaa" and ate popcorn.

After the movie we ate ice cream cake, and then opened presents. Julien wanted a ninja themed birthday party so I had made special ninja birthday invitations. Audrey and I also decorated his birthday cake like a ninja mask.

Alex gave his Julien his old fishing pole. Julien loved it. He had been asking to go fishing for a long time. It was a very thoughtful present.

My parents got Julien a Zhu Zhu pet. He had been waiting for it for a long time now. He was so excited.

Julien and Yama

Jon and I got Julien Spy Gear. Julien and Logan love to play spies. Now that they both have their spy gear they are all equipped to sneak and spy on us.

Julien had a good birthday, and was spoiled with a lot of nice cards and gifts from his friends and family.

Happy Birthday Alex!

Alex turned 14 today! My mom took Julien, Logan, Alex, and his friend Tyler to the movies for his birthday. My mom, Julien, and Logan went to go see "Despicable me" while Alex and Tyler went to see "Inception." Everyone seemed to have really enjoyed the movies. Julien and Logan had a lot of fun. Then the boys came down for more celebrations. We enjoyed ice cream cake. Alex opened his presents. He got a PSP and a game. He loved it! And Julien and Logan did too.

I hope Alex had a good birthday, because he deserves it so much. He is a very cute and smart teenager. I am so proud to be his sister and so glad to have him be such a great uncle to Julien, Logan, and Kia Ora.

Ninja Zhu Zhu Pet invasion

Our house has been invaded by Ninja Zhu Zhu pets. Logan got his first Zhu Zhu pet for his birthday, and when I was at the hospital my mom took the boys to the store to pick up another with some money they had saved up. They love their Zhu Zhu pet so much. It is so fun to watch them play with them.

Today, Julien and Logan made their own arena to battle their Zhu Zhus into. It was so cute and creative that I just had to grab my camera and take picture. They had their warm fuzzies and their super hero figurines as spectators. After the battle, they even had the "spectators" line up to get autographs signed.

Meet the Zhu Zhus!

Logan says that the best thing about having a Zhu Zhu pet is that you can battle them.

Logan's zhu zhu pets names are Azer, and Thorn.

Julien thinks that Zhu Zhus are just fun to play with and he likes that they can talk. He is hoping to get a new one for his birthday.

Julien's zhu zhu pet is called Rivet.
