a hat per month
One of Kia Ora's intellectual and social goals for this year, as part of the new Go and Do program from Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, was to learn to make hats and friendship bracelets. The other part of her goal is to make one per month and give it to someone. I have been so impressed by how dedicated and hard working this girl has been. She made a first for herself, and a second for Keilani, once she got the hang of it she made a third for one of her friends. Once she brought it to school all were so impressed that each asked for one along with the color they wanted. She was so excited! She is now working on her 4th hat for her good friend Hazel.

another one bites the dust!
A last week Julien and Logan's PT Cruiser died!
It was only a matter of time, but I was honestly hoping that it would last us a few more months.
After much thought, and weighing pros and cons of car versus no car, or old car versus new car, and much shopping around, we found the perfect car for boys.
2019 Nissan Versa!
It had been a rental the dealership was using while cars were being worked on. The mileage was very low, never even had its first oil change, was still under manufacturing warranty and was for a price we could not resist.
I'd say we have 2 happy teenagers.

Breakfast Kolaches
While Jon and the boys were at the youth stake activity I decided to make freezer breakfast kolaches for the kids to take before early morning seminary. It is not easy to wake up at 5 am and go to seminary Monday through Friday. I know the boys don't always get breakfast in the morning because of time or them not being hungry so early in the morning. Every few month I make a large batch of Kolaches or muffins and freeze them so they can grab and go. Once they got home they were so excited to have breakfast for the next couple of weeks.
winter classic swim meet
Today the boys had their winter classic meet.
I was able to rush over after work and watch them in a few of their races.
I wish I could go and show my support more.
These boys are so talented! I am so proud of all they do and the way in which they are developing!

Julien's relay
Julien's 100 free
I could not upload Logan's 100 back because of the file size, but he did a great job!

my new citrus press
I have been doing the Walmart pick up for the past few month now and I love love it!
Last week I accidentally ordered 5 4lbs bags of oranges instead of 5 single oranges not realizing it until I got home. That was a lot of oranges! What to with so many oranges? Fresh squeezed orange juice of course. Although I had a juicer and a traditional hand juicer, I really wanted an orange press. I had seen them everywhere when we lived in Saudi and never got one. I felt that this was the perfect opportunity to shop for one! It is amazing, and so easy to use. I love it!

balloon sculpting
I bought Jon a balloon sculpting kit for Christmas as a gag gift.
We had joked about how cute I thought it would be if he could make balloon animals for our grandkids one day and teased him about needing to start learning how to fold and tie balloons.
Well, he has taken it to heart and has been making balloon sculptures nearly everyday since he got the kit. He is so cute!

Galette des Rois
Today we celebrated Galette des Rois!
I love this tradition we do as a family and love that my kids look forward to it every year.
Last year my aunt bought me some Smurff feves. I was so excited to use them this year!
Note: Julien did not have the feve in his piece but stole it from Keilani since she was not interested in eating it. lol!

Happy New Year!
I can't believe another year has already come and gone!
I am so ready for 2020 and know it is going to be full of new happenings for our family!
We typically don't do much to celebrate the new year because Jon and I get so tired and end up sleeping before 11 pm. So this year I believe we have started a new fun family tradition, bowling!
We went to Main Event in Webster bowled and had pizza. It was an absolute blast!
As we walked in I saw this hug ice cream poster and knew I had to taste it!
It took a little convincing Jon to order it, but he did!
