The Itsy Bitsy Spider

Logan had a nursery rhyme day today at school. He chose to do the Itsy Bitsy Spider. He was so excited to help me make his costume. It turned out pretty good.

Our 140 dollar movie date!

On Saturday night, Jon and I took the kids out to go see Madagascar 2: Escape to Africa. The kids seemed to enjoy it. Once the movie was over, we all walked back to where our car was supposedly parked, yet was nowhere to be found. Our car had been impounded. Apparently we were parked in a red zone but did not see the red line since it was covered in snow (we simply parked next to the last car in the row). Anyway...Stuck at Movies 8, at 9 o'clock at night, no car to go home with... At this point, I seriously considered running home, it would have only taken me 15 minutes top. The only two things that kept me from doing it was the cold winter night, and the fact that I did not have shoes to run with.
Jon finally got a hold of a neighbor who came and got us and then babysat the kids while we picked up the Lumina. Thanks to our sweet neighbor Matt Lukens for helping us out.
In total our 1 and 45 minutes fun at the cheap seats to see Madagascar 2 cost us a ridiculous grand total of 140 dollars. Ahhhhh.... Thank you very much.

The crazy thing is that they could have booted our car for 50 bucks but chose to impound it for a 133 purely for the LOVE of MONEY, and making poor starving students even poorer...

Still dancing!?!

Still dancing! Or trying to is the more correct thing to say. It is hard to stay in shape, and it is even harder to keep yourself involved with projects when you are not in school. This past semester, I auditioned for a hip hop/ modern piece at BYU, and surprisingly, I made it. Schlee Hannan, one of my great friends from UVSC choreographed it. She has done an awesome job. The dance is very intense. I feel pretty out of breath afterward. I will be performing it during a dance concert the last week of January at BYU. In addition to that, another great friend from school Meredith Ashton, has asked me to be in a part of a project she has been working on using gestures, and text in a piece she will be presenting at the Martin Luther King Commemoration at UVU. It is a very poignant piece, I have really enjoyed being a part of this choreographic process.
I have felt so blessed and privileged to be a part of these two dances. It has kept me busy, and most importantly dancing. Dancing has been such a big part of my life ever since I can remember that when I am not dancing, life is a little less bright and a little harder it seems. It has been wonderful to wake up early and do what I love to do- dance my heart out.

PS: If you have any questions about either of those performances, you can email me or check out my website for more info (it should be up to date by this Sunday).

My tooth is loose

Julien lost one of his top teeth while he was having a sleep over at Mami and Papi's house, and the tooth fairy was mighty generous. She brought him two dollars along with a note reminding him to brush his teeth. He thought it was pretty cool.

Yeah for Christmas Break!

Julien and Logan are so happy to have my parents and Alex around. Alex is so great to play with them so much. The kids love it. They are also enjoying the snow a lot...

Oh that Caramel!

Having fun with Alex

While Audrey was in town she would make puzzles with Logan almost every day. He got so into it, it was fun to watch.
He loved it so much.

One of the things we love to do when we get together with my family is play games; especially Tarot (the game). We would play almost every night. One night Raph, Austin (Raphael's friend from BYU Hawaii), and I played cards for over 4 hours.

Cuddling with Raph

Every Christmas, it has been a tradition in my family to break off into two teams (boys vs girls), and have a contest to see who can decorate the best ginger bread house. It is always a close call, the boys are very meticulous and talented. But this year the Bishop of my parents' Ward ruled in favor of the girls.

Fun day at the Pool.
